Ivan Houston
I help corporate clients with more complex requirements, combining strong commercial awareness, a multi-disciplinary approach and a deep understanding of the UK tax and regulatory environment to achieve successful outcomes. I also shape the strategy of the business along with my director colleagues, and provide support to all the team as we continue to grow the business, nurture talent and improve and develop our advisory capabilities.

I'm a director and shareholder of Scholes Ltd. I retain a hands-on approach to management within the firm.
Ryan Allan
As the firm’s Head of Audit and Assurance, I am responsible for overseeing the delivery of our audit services to our corporate and charity clients. I also supervise our accounts team who are responsible for preparing company, charity, sole trader and partnership accounts.
Aimee Robertson
I help our sole trader and partnership clients with their accounting and bookkeeping requirements. I'm also currently studying towards my Chartered Accountant qualification.

My main duties at Scholes are to support audits. Additionally, I am studying the ICAS qualification to become a chartered accountant.

I am part of the payroll and book-keeping team, helping our clients with all their payroll and day-to-day accounting needs.

I jointly oversee accounts preparation, taxation, payroll, bookkeeping and VAT at our Aberdeen and Laurencekirk offices. I take a personal interest in our clients and their businesses to help them achieve their goals.
Ben Goudie
As a Supervisor in the accounts team, I lead engagements across a diverse portfolio of clients, including charities, local businesses, and subsidiaries of international groups. I’m responsible for planning and delivering audits, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring our work meets high professional standards.
Beth Robertson
As part of the accounts and tax team, I support a diverse portfolio of clients across Shetland and beyond, assisting with financial reporting, compliance, and advisory services. My role also includes providing support to the payroll and personal tax team when needed, helping ensure smooth operations and timely service delivery.
Brian Dobson
As part of the accounts team I do various different assignments for our clients. I prepare accounts under UK accounting standards (FRS105 and FRS 102), for companies and charities; I help clients with their management accounting needs too. I am one of the VAT managers assisting our clients with their VAT compliance; and I do bookkeeping preparation and bank reconciliation support for some of our clients as well.

I am a member of the audit and accounts department where I prepare annual accounts for sole trader and partnership businesses, as well as statutory accounts and tax returns for limited companies.

I have a wide-ranging role in the Edinburgh office and no two days are the same. I look after the accounts and taxation services for clients to ensure that they meet their statutory obligations and help them to develop their businesses further. I also carry out audits for some of our audit clients.

Lesley Hutchison
I work with our clients from owner managed businesses to charities to companies with foreign ownership, from small to large in a wide range of industries. I mainly manage our statutory accounting and other reporting and advisory services and really enjoy the variety and getting to know clients and their businesses.
Megan Leslie
I predominately carry out statutory audits for both companies and charities. As part of my role, I am responsible for coaching junior members of the team, auditing significant risk areas, maintaining client relationships and leading a team whilst onsite. I have assisted with corporation tax in the past

My main duty at Scholes is to support audits, to assist with bookkeeping, and to prepare annual accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies. Beyond this, I also attend classes and undertake study for my ICAS qualification.

I help our clients to comply with their obligations under the UK Income Tax Self Assessment regime. I also advise client companies on their obligations in relation to UK corporation tax, as well as providing support to my colleagues on a wide range of tax matters.
