This International Women’s Day, we are shining a light on three amazing individuals within the Scholes CA team:
- Sandra Tulloch – Manager, Kirkwall office
- Cara Wilson – Manager, Aberdeen office
- Kayleigh Tipper – Senior Manager, Kirkwall office
Each one of these women is instrumental to the functioning of our offices and the services we offer our clients.
Sandra
Based in our Kirkwall office, Sandra will mark her 16th anniversary with us this year.
She has been a cornerstone of our payroll team, ensuring exceptional accuracy and compliance no matter the challenges.
Originally joining in 2009 on a temporary maternity cover, Sandra quickly proved indispensable and became a permanent member of the team a year later.
“She always goes above and beyond and currently manages over 250 payrolls across multiple branches – all while navigating the constantly changing regulations – which is no easy task!”
- Ivan Houston, Director.
No matter what, Sandra always remains upbeat and dedicated, earning the trust of clients who know they can always rely on her.
Her resilience and commitment continue to impress us all, and we are incredibly proud to have her on our team.
Cara
Cara recently completed her exams and qualified as a Chartered Accountant, becoming a member of ICAS in January.
During the time in which she has worked with us, it has been amazing to see her grow into an audit-focused role and provide so much value to our clients.
She has a positive and passionate outlook on her work, and you can tell how much a successful outcome means to her.
Cara’s work within the charity sector has also been outstanding.
For our sole trader and partnership clients, Cara also assists with the completion of annual accounts and statutory audits.
Luckily for me, as a young, newly-qualified team member, she is really on top of the cloud-based accounting software space and has been great at developing her own technological abilities.
Kayleigh
Kayleigh has been a vital part of our team since 2011 and is expert in a range of personal tax topics.
Originally studying Business Management and Marketing, she ultimately became dual qualified as an Accounting Technician and a Taxation Technician.
Kayleigh guides our clients through tax changes and securing financial relief and is often the first point of contact for tax queries, returns, and refunds.
“Kayleigh is exceptionally hard-working. She is a massive asset to the Scholes CA team and has impacted the lives of so many of our clients.
“I know that, through Kayleigh, our clients have access to a genuine, trusted source of information on a range of business and personal tax and finance issues.”
- Ryan Allan, Director
Beyond client work, Kayleigh trains and advises our teams on tax issues, helping new starters gain confidence and pass exams. Her expertise and dedication make her an invaluable member of the team, and we’re proud to have her.
Happy International Women’s Day!
Whilst this has been a celebration of three incredible women in our team, there are so many more within Scholes CA (and right across the accounting profession) who also deserve praise.
The talent and dedication you show to your work, your firms and your clients is absolutely sensational.
However, for me, International Women’s Day is about more than celebrating achievements.
It should also serve as a reminder to reflect on how we can continue to create a more inclusive and accessible profession for future generations.
This is something I’m passionate about regardless of whether it’s in my role at Scholes, ICAS, or in my daily life.
I think it’s something we should all strive for.
